Doing some more research on jobs in the Artistic field, I came across a position known as an Exhibition Production Manager. With a starting salary ranging from $55,000 – $60,000, an Exhibition Production Manager’s main job is to oversee the Production crew of a museum for galleries and during/in between exhibitions. It is expected that the person in this position has the ability to estimate and work to maintain a project’s budget and direct the assembly of artwork fixtures and casework. Another part of the job as an Exhibition Production Manager is researching and dealing with artwork storage as well as working to improve the museum shop.

As for qualifications, this occupation is required to have experience in production tasks and management along with familiarity with production tools and software. An Exhibition Production Manager must have good mathematical skills and be able to understand design drawings. It is also extremely important that the manager keeps up with shop safety regulations. A wide range of schooling and/or trade opportunities will offer experience that this position requires. Although schooling is not necessary for this role, a manager must have certification of the skills they are asked to provide.
